How To Coordinate Wedding Party Outfits

bridal dress

To make your wedding photographs as beautiful as possible, why not coordinate your bridal dress, bridesmaid dresses, and flower girl dresses?

Recently, supermodel Kate Moss wed rock musician Jamie Hince (of The Kills), and she wore an ivory, 1930′s-style Galliano couture wedding gown with metallic accents.

Kate Moss

To coordinate her wedding party, Kate chose innocent white gowns for her bridesmaids and flower girls, along with laurels of flowers for their hair.

Although choosing white bridesmaids gowns isn’t a typical choice, it gave the wedding photos a dreamy, innocent quality.

Kate Moss wanted a decadent, Great Gatsby vibe for her nuptials, and she succeeded brilliantly…right down to her groom’s fitted, pale-blue tuxedo!

To find the right combinations for your wedding, we’ve put together some exciting wedding party ensembles that may give you some welcome wedding inspiration.

Golden Light…

bridal gown

Gold adds a touch of sunlit beauty to wedding party ensembles…from the bride’s stunning white wedding dress, to the bridesmaids evening dresses and the flower girl’s little frocks. If you love a touch of metallic glamor, coordinate your wedding party with combinations of cream, gold and white..

The stunning, show-stopping gown featured above is adorned with frothy tulle and luxurious golden embellishments and trimmings. To coordinate the wedding party look, consider mimicking Kate Moss’ palette by dressing your bridesmaids in cream-coloured cheap bridesmaid dresses

bridesmaids dresses

Of course, the perfect finishing touch is a sweet flower girl dress in a matching metallic. If you love gold, cream and white, you might enjoy this pretty and fun flower girl choice:

Pink Ladies…

wedding dresses

A rosy glow is always flattering…for years, Old Hollywood glamor queens changed their own boudoir light bulbs from white to pink, knowing that the pink bulbs made them look fresher and younger. A little touch of pink adds feminine charm to almost any woman’s look, and this popular color can also work for a wedding party look that is picture perfect…

The gorgeous gown shown above will make you feel like a goddess – elegant draping around the torso leads to stunning layers of the palest rose-pink…perfect for any skin tone, fashionable wedding dresses like this one are meant to be treasured for a lifetime…

To dress your bridesmaids, select pretty pink dresses that blend beautifully with your own wedding gown’s palette…

evening dresses

Of course, little girls need to feel gorgeous, too, so treat them to a touch of petal-pink beauty that shows off their rosy cheeks and fresh faces…

Mimic Hot Celebrity Style On Your Wedding Day

Angelina Jolie

Outrageously gorgeous, bold and spirited, Angelina Jolie is a lightning rod for controversy; however, she also evokes Old Hollywood glamor that (despite her array of edgy tattoos) always feels timeless.

Angelina’s style is classic – if you’ve seen her in her street clothes in paparazzi shots, you’ll know she favors skirts to the knee, fitted trousers, sweater sets, boots and simple pumps, and she keeps accessories to a minimum. However, her beautiful chestnut hair is always perfect (whether worn up or down), and her makeup is consistently flawless.

At night, on the red carpet, Angie unleashes her undeniable sex appeal with a formitting evening dress that tends to display a certain simplicity. With lips and eyes like Angelina Jolie’s, a lot of ruffles or jewels are not necessary, so she keeps it classic, with a touch of postmodern minimalism.

bridal gowns

To get the Angelina Jolie look on your wedding day, choose a sophisticated gown, such as the stunning bridal dress shown above, and wear your hair in soft, controlled waves – after all, Angelina rarely goes in for fussy updos.

Makeup should be subtle, but still dramatic – Angelina always does a cat-eye look by lining her upper eyelid in black eyeliner and extending the line upward, for a winged effect. However, she doesn’t apply eye makeup to her lower lashes. This glam look makes the most of almond-shaped eyes, and it’s very elegant. Angie plays down her famous, full pout with earth-toned, beige-y lipstick – however, once in a while, she’ll choose a bold crimson or orange-red lip color that stands out beautifully against her pale olive skin tone.

Once you’ve found the wedding dress of your dreams, high heels and gorgeous bridal rings will be all you need to capture this hot celebrity look. Be sure to look for wedding dress alterations if you need them, as a perfect fit is really important for this high-end look.

Taylor Swift

bridal dress

Innocence and all-American wholesomeness define the style of natural beauty (and Cover Girl spokesmodel) Taylor Swift. This young singer-songwriter is known for her delicate features, alabaster skin, and curly blond tresses. Lately, Taylor’s been appearing in more grown-up hair and makeup, but her lean, elegant build and angelic face still lend a fresh, feminine, and youthful look to whatever she puts on.

To get a Taylor Swift-style wedding look, go for a deep side part of lush curls, and keep your makeup rosy, dewy, and girly. Flushed cheeks, rose-pink lips, and eyes lined in a little smoky charcoal eyeliner or eyeshadow will work perfectly for this look – avoid earth tones if you also have pale skin, like Taylor’s. Use shimmer powder on the decolletage and arms to add a “stardust” effect that is dazzling under bright lights.

Perfect wedding dresses that mimic the Taylor Swift look include the pretty corseted style shown above – always choose pure white, rather than cream, to highlight the fairytale beauty of this sort of look…

Zooey Deschanel

wedding dress

Indie “It” girl Zooey Deschanel is an actress with a distinctive hipster- vintage look and a love of girly dresses with a Fifties vibe. Her thick, dark mane and bright blue eyes have made her a natural choice for ingénue roles in film and television. Married to a member of alt-rock band Death Cab For Cutie, Zooey is also starring in a new television series, New Girl, this fall…

To get Zooey’s cool retro look, choose a knee-length wedding dress that nips in at the waist – accessorize with thick bangs, a pretty headband, and high heels. Red lips will work well, if you’re pale with dark hair, like Zooey. Whatever makeup you choose, keep it very light and natural, except for the lips, which should contrast with your skin and hair.

Ballerina Beauty For Your Wedding Day

bridal dress

Recently, director Darren Aronofsky’s dramatic film, Black Swan (starring Natalie Portman and Mila Kunis) highlighted the glamorous, yet grueling, lives of ballerinas. The costumes created for Black Swan played up the delicate beauty of the waifish lead actresses, who appeared in embellished tutus with fitted bodices and full skirts.

While the movie was dark and disturbing, the fashions of the ballet world are anything but…in fact, these classic and romantic designs are made to enhance the beautiful lines of a woman’s body.

Beauty Tips For The Ballerina Look

To capture the essence of ballerina beauty on your wedding day, wear your hair in a pretty chignon or sleek updo, and do a dramatic eye with lots of eyeliner, mascara, and eye shadow.  Brows should be darkened with eyeshadow or pencil, and lips should be neutral, pale pink, or crimson (with a touch of gloss). This makeup and hair look will gel beautifully with fashionable wedding dresses that feature ballet-inspired design elements.

Cheeks should not be too flushed; foundation should always match the skin perfectly, and be finished with a dusting of translucent powder (and a touch of highlighting shimmer, high on the cheekbones and the browbone).

This elegant look is perfect for a lean build, but it can also be stunning on a curvier body, since most ballerina-inspired wedding dresses balance the body with their nipped-in waistlines and full, frothy skirts…

For Dramatic Eyes, try  Dior 5-Colour Designer All-In-One Artistry Palette – Smoky
Design.

For shimmer and sparkle, apply Benefit Moonbeam highlighter to the top of the cheekbones, the browbone, and the decolletage.

To mimic Portman’s Black Swan look, choose a sheer wash of high-quality ruby lipstick, such as Guerlain’s Rouge G in Garconne.

Graceful Gowns To Consider…

Here are some lovely bridal gowns that will help you capture the spirit of ballerina beauty as you walk down the aisle…

Delicate Straps Define The Ballerina Look

bridal gown

Ballerina looks don’t have to feature endless layers of tulle – in fact, they can be quite subtle. The bridal dress shown above gets its ballerina beauty from its delicate shoulder straps, and its form-fitting lace-and-satin bodice.

Designed to highlight the beauty of a woman’s neck and shoulders, this stunning wedding dress is really the height of elegance. Comfortable, yet totally glamorous, this dress needs little extra adornment. A strong lip, a sleek hairstyle, and drop earrings will be more than enough to accessorize this feminine, graceful design…

Poetry In Motion…

wedding dress

The right bridal gown will make you feel more confident - once you put in on, you’ll feel more beautiful and more alluring. The wedding dress shown above is a lovely example of ballerina style – the pretty skirt, with its careful pleating and rich, lustrous fabric, is designed to move with you.

If you’re planning a first dance with your new groom, you’ll love the way this dress highlights your gracefulness. A sparkly headpiece will finish the look perfectly…

Frothy Perfection…

bridal gown

For daring, unforgettable style that makes you feel like a prima ballerina, shine in a frothy confection adorned with a sparkling, silvery dusting of crystals, and sheer, light-as-air layers of  snow-white chiffon. This gown is really the ultimate in decadence, and it indulges a women’s fantasies of perfect glamour on her wedding day.

To accessorize, balance the full skirt with high heels in shimmery silver, and add a choker necklace and elegant earrings. Sexy and dramatic, this white wedding dress is a fairytale come true…

Pretty Wedding Dresses For Petite Brides-to-be

wedding dresses

Sometimes, petite women have to work harder to find exceptional evening dresses and wedding gowns that are designed for their smaller proportions. Altering a dress designed for a taller woman may be an option, but it’s always better to find a bridal dress that is cut to fit your body, right from the very start. Luckily, today’s designers are paying attention to the needs of petite women, and creating spectacular gowns that fit their particular body type.

Petite women aren’t necessarily size 0 or size 2 – they are simply smaller in stature, and they need the right cuts and fabrics for their height. To help petite brides-to-be make the most of their beauty as they walk down the aisle, we’ve compiled some perfect wedding dresses designed just for petite brides-to-be. To accessorize these gowns, veils, headpieces, and bridal rings should also be scaled to a tinier body….

Princess-Style Gowns Highlight The Delicate Femininity Of Petite Builds…

bridal dress

You don’t need to give up all of the bells and whistles of a luxurious, princess-style wedding gown, simply because you are petite. In fact, the doll-like beauty of a feminine, petite body type can be highlighted by classic, princess-style bridal dresses.

Channel your inner Disney Princess by treating yourself to a gown like the one shown above – fitted tightly through the torso, this design nips in your waist, creating a pleasing and classic Cinderella-inspired silhouette that is so flattering to a petite build. The best petite wedding dresses (like this one) are custom-made to fit properly through the bodice and hips - they will also have the right length for your height.

wedding tiara

On your wedding day, you should have a bridal gown that is scaled to your proportions – it will hug you in all the right places, and alterations will be minimal. Treat yourself to a princess-style petite wedding gown, and accessorize with a delicate, glittery headband or headpiece that is also smaller in scale.

Glamorous Elegance Worthy Of The Hollywood Red Carpet…

bridal dress

If you’re looking for sleeker, modern style that has a touch of Hollywood glamor, you’ll love this fitted gown, with its elegant, cream-colored fabric (white is also available) and clean lines. Designed to be elegant and subtle, this gown is womanly and alluring….especially since it’s been designed to work with your own petite proportions. Fit problems won’t be an issue when you choose this matte satin stunner – and the only accessory you’ll really need is your radiant smile (and perhaps a glittery necklace, or sheer, half-length veil).

bridal veil

Finding the right veil for your look is about scale – look for sheer, filmy styles that aren’t full-length (these will overpower your petite build). The short veil shown above would be a perfect choice – it’s trimmed in gorgeous lace and embellished for a rich effect, yet it’s still very sheer and simple…

At Best For Bride, We Know How To Dress The Petite Bride-To-Be

The lovely wedding dresses shown here represent just a sampling of the choices we have in stock. If you’re searching for wedding dresses in Toronto or bridal shops in Mississauga, you’ll adore the selection of gowns you find at our bridal boutique. However, ordering over the Internet may also be a possibility for you – we’ve created an online bridal store that offers you a dizzying array of petite gowns, all of which can be ordered from the comfort of your own home.

Our caring and experienced team of specialists will be there to advise you, no matter how you decide to shop…feel free to contact us with any questions you might have about finding the perfect petite wedding dress for your special day.

Edgier Wedding Looks For Brides-To-Be

wedding gown

Some brides-to-be aren’t interested in the tried-and-true…they’re looking for edgier fashion that really reflects their personal style. If you love alternative rock music, funky home décor and art, and a more offbeat sense of style, you’ll appreciate the cool new wedding dresses we’re showcasing here.

These white bridal gowns are perfect for brides-to-be who want to be themselves as they walk down the aisle; these gowns can be accessorized with strong makeup, creative hairstyles, and wild shoes!

While these bridal dress styles may not fit the traditional “princess” mold, they will be perfect for the edgier bride-to-be!

Channel Katy Perry’s Retro-Glam Look On Your Wedding Day

bridal dress

Celebs, such as pop singer Katy Perry, wear wild outfits with a “costume” vibe – in the case of Katy Perry, her personality (and persona) are strong enough to carry off tons of embellishments, body-conscious bustiers, and fabulous metallic accents.

The wedding dress shown above would be perfect for Katy Perry, who recently wed British actor/comedian Russell Brand; the silver-and-white bustier design elements on this high-style bridal dress are certainly not for the meek or tame! Gowns like these are meant for confident women, who naturally give off bubbly, playful energy; at the same time, they are very seductive frocks that look amazing in wedding photos…

If you love to be the center of attention, and to push the envelope with edgy style that has a distinct vintage feel, you’ll adore this form-fitting, glamorous bridal gown design.

This gown plays up curves, by drawing the eye to the decollétage and throat – it also lights up an already-radiant bride-to-be’s complexion with tons of sparkly, shimmering appliqués.

To get the Katy Perry look on your wedding day, choose crimson lipstick (Loreal’s Drumbeat Red is an elegant, true red) or fuschia lipcolor, and play up the eyes with black liquid eyeliner along the top lashes. For a playful retro hairstyle look, add a headband with a bow, or a glam barrette embellished with rhinestones or other faux-gemstones…

Display Alternative Elegance With A Unique New Wedding Dress Silhouette

wedding gown

Show off an edgy new type of wedding day look by embracing cutting-edge design that veers off the beaten path…the gown shown above is romantic, yet unusual, and it really suits that type of girl who’d rather wear Doc Martens than Manolo Blahniks. If you’re interested in flattering your figure and wearing traditional white, while also reflecting your own unique sense of style, this could be the bridal dress you’ve been waiting for. When you’re shopping for dresses for wedding, always consider edgier styles that feel really embrace your aesthetic.

This gown shows the shoulders, and features exquisite tailoring through the midriff; a straight satin skirt flows past the thighs, then erupts into romantic waves of filmy tulle, trimmed in pure white, scalloped lace. Ideal for a leaner, more boyish build, this gown adds curves while still retaining a sleek, elegant, and postmodern look. Accessories should be kept minimal – a strong hairstyle and ethereal makeup (such as smokey gray and silver eyeshadows, and peaches-and-cream blush) will be all you need to rock this edgy look.

Edgy Can Be Elegant When You Know How To Accessorize The Look

wedding dress

Do you love the classic looks sported by fashion icons, such as the late Jackie Kennedy Onassis, or the notorious Duchess of Windsor? If you do, you’re not alone – many women long for a touch of this clean, elegant glamour in their own wedding dresses. These fashion icons were very unique during their lifetimes – instead of copying others, they made their own style, simply by choosing fashions that flattered their strong facial features and body types.

You can get the same timeless elegance, with a touch of edgy sexiness, by choosing the wedding gown shown above. It is literally sheer elegance, and it’s devastatingly beautiful! Accessorize this amazing gown and sheer jacket with a wavy bob, and elegant jewelry, such as long, beaded necklaces or ropes of pearls. Add a little hat with a veil if you’re feeling daring. Shoes should be elegant as well – if you’re tall, wear satin flats; for petite brides, satin high heels with very little embellishment will be perfect.

If you’re looking for wedding dresses in Toronto, visit Best For Bride’s store to get this exceptional gown – you can also order any of our dresses from our online bridal store.

Daring Bridal Gowns For Fashionistas

bridal dress

High style is about pushing the envelope and taking chances. On the runways of Paris and New York City, designers create fresh silhouettes that give women a whole new attitude.

The way you dress says a lot about you…if you love the glamor, chic and imaginative styles of the world’s top fashion designers (such as the late Alexander McQueen, and Miuccia Prada), you should mimic this couture effect on your own wedding day.

If daring, stunningly sophisticated style straight out of Vogue Magazine is what you crave for your white wedding dress, Best for Bride can make it happen for you…without the sticker shock of a $100,000 dollar couture bridal dress! Here are some of our most original and inspiring designs for this season:

A Hint Of Spanish Influence Adds Passion And Drama To Our Bolero Wedding Gown

bridal gown

A superbly fitted bolero jacket with gorgeous, embellished 3/4 sleeves adds high-fashion appeal to this unforgettable wedding dress. The delicate satin bodice hugs the body all along the torso and through the hips, and a frothy skirt, featuring extravagant layers of light-as-air tulle, adds fantasy and feminine beauty to the design.

This design needs very few (if any) wedding accessories; it stands alone as a shining example of creativity and skilled workmanship. To capture the Spanish influence in your hair and makeup, consider a sleek center part hairstyle with a low ponytail or chignon. A strong lip will balance the drama of this gown – bold, fiery red or magenta will work well.

If you choose this spectacular wedding gown for your special day, you’ll treasure it forever…

Enjoy A Dazzling, Modern Frock With Art Deco Influences

wedding dress

Subtle beading that evokes the elegant beauty of Art Deco design and architecture adds a touch of vintage-inspired beauty to the clean, minimalist lines of this sophisticated bridal gown.  Sexy halter styling is balanced by a traditional bodice and skirt that are completely appropriate and ladylike.

This bridal dress is the perfect melding of old and new; overall, though, its look is sleek and current. To mirror the Deco influences, do your hair in Flapper Era finger waves, or sport a chic, razor-cut bob with bangs.

Makeup should feature a strong, smoky eye to play up the streamlined, low key seduction of this stunning wedding dress. Skip the veil – you really do not need it with a couture-inspired dress like this! However, you should definitely treat yourself to a striking pair of stilettos to add height and drama…

wedding gown

Couture gowns often feature a luxurious assortment of embellishments, including rich beading and appliqués; this lustrous, pearl-white bridal gown channels the late-night glamor of Versace or Ungaro couture evening dresses. Scalloped straps covered in shining, sparkling embellishments highlight a bustier-style bodice finished with delicate, slimming bands of gleaming satin.

Perfect for women with hourglass figures, this design is sure to thrill any fashionista who really wants to make a splash as she walks down the aisle.

Confidence Is The Only Accessory You Need

With wedding dresses like these, the only accessory you really need is confidence; if you have this, you will be ready to show your style on the most romantic day of your life.

If you will not be able to shop for wedding dresses in Toronto, take advantage of the Best For Bride online bridal store – we are here to make your high-fashion dreams come true, and we can send your dream dress almost anywhere…

Alfred Sung Creates Truly Canadian Wedding Gowns For Brides-To-Be

bridal dresses

Supporting the Canadian fashion industry on your wedding day can be a wonderful way to honor the Maple Leaf as you walk down the aisle.

Luckily, world-renowned Canadian designer Alfred Sung has designed a stunning collection of bridal gowns for this very special occasion.

Since the 80′s, when Sung began to create designs under his own name, he has represented Canada on runways all over the world. The success story of this Canadian immigrant continues today, as he designs feminine, luxurious wedding gowns that embrace a clean, body-conscious aesthetic…

If you’re interested in choosing a bridal gown by a truly Canadian designer, you’ll love this exciting sneak peek at some of his most romantic bridal dresses…

About The Designer…

wedding dress

Alfred Sung immigrated from China in 1972; he moved from Shanghai to Toronto after being educated at the highly respected Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne in France.

Defying his parents, who would have preferred him to take up a more stable, traditional vocation, Sung embraced his love of the fine arts and began to study fashion- he is also a graduate of the notable New York City-based Parsons School of Design.

After finishing his education and a short apprenticeship for a Seventh Avenue designer, he became an integral part of the Canadian fashion scene; his career in Canadian fashion started when he designed sportswear for a national manufacturer based in Toronto.

His talent was quickly recognized by his superiors, and also by a range of private, freelance clients – in time, it was obvious that young Alfred Sung was destined to create his own line under his own name.

Eventually, Sung found the capital he needed to open a small boutique, Moon, in Toronto’s fashionable, thriving Yorkville area.

His reputation grew as he started designing his own collection; Alfred Sung’s Canadian empire is based on the success of his signature clean, feminine career suiting and casual sportswear, elegant perfumes and body lotions, and evening dresses, bridesmaids dresses, and Alfred Sung wedding gowns

Sung’s Luxe, Sophisticated Style Always Flatters The Female Form…

bridal gown

Alfred Sung’s signature silhouette hugs the torso, highlighting pleated, tucked, and draped bodices that are expertly embellished for high drama. His skirts are usually full, and help to create a pleasing hourglass effect that is universally flattering.

Elegant beading adds a couture feel to a Sung white wedding dress. Since the dresses are so refined, they need very little extra adornment. In general, a veil or headpiece may not even be needed, since the gown themselves are so striking and fashionable.

However, it is easy to adapt these exquisite bridal dresses to a range of traditional bridal looks that also feature long veils, headpieces, and other popular wedding accessories.

Sung’s unique style sensibility gives his wedding dresses a runway-ready look that is both stylish and unforgettable. Blessed with an ability to design gowns bestowed with fresh, current design elements and traditional shapes, Sung offers the ideal blend of old and new to today’s beautiful Canadian brides…

Choose Alfred Sung Bridesmaid’s Dresses For A Coordinated Wedding Theme…

bridesmaids dresses

Your bridesmaids will adore the Audrey Hepburn-inspired chic of Alfred Sung’s bridesmaid gowns. Available in a range of colors and fabrics, these bridesmaids dresses are designed to be worn and enjoyed long after the wedding ceremony and reception are over!

Ideas For Planet-Friendly, “Green” Weddings

wedding dress

Today, many brides consider the environment while they plan their wedding ceremonies and receptions. Avoiding waste , ordering planet-friendly supplies, and conserving energy at a grand celebration can be tricky, but it’s not impossible.

In fact, planning a “green” wedding can be a wonderful experiment that most guests will really appreciate. There are plenty of ways to ensure that your wedding is as environmentally-conscious as it can be; here are some excellent tips to help you get started:

Choose A Local, Sustainable Menu

Supporting local farmers and local businesses can be an excellent starting point when planning a planet-friendly wedding. After all, so much fuel, energy and packaging is wasted when food products are imported. Choosing local, sustainable ingredients is a perfect way to support your community and protect the environment. Look for fresh produce in season, and choose a menu that celebrates the hard work of local farmers.

Buying food products grown in your locality can be a great way of making sure that everything served at your wedding is as fresh as it can possibly be. While certain types of food, such as wild-farmed salmon, organic beef and chicken, and organic fruits and veggies can cost more, they are free of harmful pesticides, hormones, and other nasty additives. Your guests will taste the difference, and you will support environmentally-conscious local businesses. Make sure your friends and family know that you’ve chosen a fresh, local menu – they’ll love the idea!

Use Recycled Paper For Save-The-Date Notes, Invitations, Place Cards, and Menus

There are plenty of excellent ways to use recycled paper and cardboard to create gorgeous wedding invitations, place cards, and menus. If you’re outsourcing these items from a local designer or printer, be sure to request the materials you want – any reputable printer or artist will be more than happy to comply with your wishes.

To create lovely decorations, invitations, place cards and menus from recycled paper – get creative! Use appliques, ribbon, stencils and rubber stamps to give your work a chic, homespun vibe. A hot glue gun can be a great way to add embellishments to planet-friendly recycled wedding favors and invitations. You might also want to look for envelopes made from recycled materials…

Keep Things Simple And Old-Fashioned

A low-fi, old-school approach to wedding entertainment can give your reception a lot of charm. Instead of a noisy rock band or cheesy, loud wedding singers, consider a folk-rock musician who only needs a single mike, a couple of amps, and an acoustic guitar. Even a string quartet can provide amazingly beautiful music during a wedding ceremony, and they won’t need much “juice” to do it. You may also want to conserve power by planning a simple, outdoor ceremony that takes advantage of bright sunlight. Candlelight can be a romantic, planet-friendly option for your wedding reception. Votives and natural beeswax candles can be fragrant, flattering, and lovely to behold.

Plan A Natural Bridal Look That Reinforces Your “Green” Theme

bridal gown

Looking pretty, natural and fresh-faced will complement your wedding’s healthy, planet-friendly feel. Look for a bridal dress that is simple and not too sexy.

If you love funkier, edgier style, express yourself with an unusual gown, such as the cool bridal dress style shown above. Be yourself by choosing a white wedding dress that really reflects your personal taste and sensibilities.

A pretty laurel of flowers in your hair will be lovely choice – this style has been worn by brides since the Middle Ages. Keep your hairstyle soft and natural – avoid hairspray and a lacquered, fussy look. To highlight your bridal gown and hair, do natural makeup that focuses on soft, neutral earth tones – pinky-brown lip glosses, such as MAC Lust, will add just enough color and shine. Glowing cheeks can be achieved with a simple swipe of peachy blush, such as the popular Nars Orgasm. Foundation should be used sparingly, and it should be designed to create a soft, dewy effect. Almay’s lightweight, sheer bases are a great choice for this kind of look.

Your bridal rings should be carefully chosen to reflect your overall style – in general, the type of woman who wants a “green” wedding won’t need a lot of bling. Subtle Feri jewelry and a small bouquet of wildflowers can be more than enough to set off your natural beauty as you walk down the aisle in your wedding dress. If you’ve overspent setting up your green wedding, consider shopping for cheap bridesmaids dresses to save a little money; online bridal boutiques, such as our Best For Bride wedding emporium, offer high quality designs for a reasonable price.

How To Get The Kate Middleton Look At Your Wedding

wedding dress

On her wedding day, Kate Middleton embodied quiet elegance and poise. Dressed in a dazzling white wedding dress created by Sarah Burton (for Alexander McQueen), Kate looked truly regal as she walked down the aisle at Westminster Abbey.

Always stylish and appropriate, the brunette beauty chose to highlight her lovely bone structure and tiny waist with a classic, princess-style bridal dress, tiara and veil. Crafted with a fitted lace overlay, this luxurious design offers the same restrained glamor and delicacy as Kate Middleton’s wedding dress. Attention to detail, lush fabrics, and painstaking craftsmanship are all utilized to create a bridal gown fit for a princess…

Accessorize For Truly Regal Style

Getting the Kate Middleton look is all about combining perfect wedding dresses with the perfect wedding accessories, such as mid-length, opaque veils and subtle tiaras.

While Kate’s tiara is made from genuine diamonds, you can get the same royal effect with our crystal wedding tiara (as shown above) – and it won’t cost hundreds of thousands of dollars! Our costume jewelry is very affordable and beautiful – another bonus of choosing a special headpiece like this is the way it will provide you with a poignant reminder of your wedding day – one you might enjoy passing down to your daughter (or any special bride-to-be) one day…

Many brides find that their wedding tiaras (and bridal gowns) take on great sentimental value over the years…

Hair And Makeup Will Complete Your Princess-Inspired Look

Kate Middleton did her own makeup on her wedding day, but she consulted with a Bobbi Brown makeup artist beforehand. During her makeup lessons with this expert, Kate learned how to apply blush, foundation, eyeliner, and lip color without any outside help – this was done to ensure secrecy on her wedding morning.

By choosing to make up her own face, Kate ran less risk of her wedding gown details (which were closely guarded) being leaked to the press.

If you don’t want to hire a makeup artist at your wedding, mimic Kate by visiting a department store and getting some bridal makeup lessons from a professional. A trained beauty consultant can point out the best shades, formulations, and techniques for you.

You might want to select some special products and keep them to be opened before your wedding. Of course, it’s always good to practice and take some digital photographs of your makeup in the weeks leading up to your wedding.

Kate’s makeup was quite strong, but the shades were generally soft and expertly blended. Three types of pink blush (two different rose tones and a shimmer blush) were layered to create flushed cheeks.

A shadow eyeliner in deep black rimmed her eyes, along with two coats of black mascara. Grey and ivory eyeshadow shades were used – the slate color highlighted the lids and crease, while the pale tone was used on the brow bone.

To finish, Kate used Bobbi Brown lip color in Sandwash Pink, topped with a shimmery clear gloss. Of course, moisturizer, base and translucent powder were used to prepare the face for color cosmetics…

Hair Tips For The Kate Middleton Look

Kate pinned back the front layers of her straight brown hair, letting the rest fall loose around her shoulders. This youthful look can be a great choice for many brides-to-be. Simple, shiny hair without a lot of volume at the crown gives a natural effect that isn’t fussy or overdone.

The overall health of your hair should be a priority as you search for a look that suits your white wedding dress. Glossy, sleek tresses that still have some movement will frame your face as you prepare to don your headpiece, veil, and bridal dress.
