Today, ceremonies can happen in foreign countries, uptown hotels and backyards, parks and various places that are far away from home. The ceremonies involve a day time activity and night parties that include only a select number of guests. It is important to plan in advance and make all the necessary arrangements weeks before the actual wedding. There are many ideas for decor including garden, ballroom, loft, seaside, barn and destination among others. Cake ideas range from white to blue, green, pink, gold and yellow including all preferences and unique tastes. Flower ideas include bouquets, centerpieces, decoration placements and boutonnieres. When looking for wedding inspirations just watch along and see what other couples are doing. The modern scene is full of brilliant ideas and imagination. When planning for a wedding, checking existing trends may help land incredible deals for venues, cakes, dresses and entertainment. Current trends include bands and celebrity appearances, closed door weddings, beach side after-wedding parties and destination trips across different cities. Although it is advisable to have a wedding planner who handles various aspects of the wedding, choosing services from a single contractor may not yield desirable conveniences. It is better to outsource services from various clients for different requirements. Choose the best for each requirement and make sure there are a couple of alternatives.

3 tips to help you choose bridesmaids dresses that your girls will want to wear again

In the past, bridesmaids dresses were notoriously hideous and weird. With the popular designs resembling cotton candy or plastic raincoats, it was no wonder these dresses were banished to a far end of the closet soon after serving its purpose. Fortunately, the options in bridesmaids dresses are much better today.

As the bride, it is your call to decide what kind of dresses your bridesmaids will wear. While your ultimate aim should be to create a cohesive effect that ties with your wedding palette, you can still make allowances so your favorite girls do not look or feel awkward in what you choose. With a little thought, your bridesmaids may even consider wearing this dress on another occasion, which means the money spent on it goes further. Let us look at how you can accomplish this.

1. Go with neutral colors

via Best for Bride

Rather than choose bridesmaids dresses in shades they may not be able to pull off anywhere else, choose neutrals. If your maid of honor tells you that she isn’t a fan of the strawberry ice that you are obsessed with, you should perhaps consider a more flattering tone from the same color family.

Limit the colors in the wedding palette to the rest of the décor, while you choose neutrals for the dresses, and it is likely they will be able to use it again. If you still want that pop of color in what they wear, try adding it to their bouquets, or with accessories like shoes and belts.

2. Choose a neutral style

The typical bridesmaids dress design is a strapless knee-length gown. If the dress is also in a vivid color, there is little use for it later on. Think outside the wedding, look at popular styles for not just bridesmaids, and base your choice accordingly.

A scoop or V-neckline is universally flattering, and it will also be perfect for other events. Also pay attention to the silhouette. An A-line dress will fall gently, look great on most body shapes, and your girls wouldn’t mind wearing it again.

3. Go with the mismatched trend and allow them to select their dress based on your guidelines

via Best for Bride

Gone are the days when all the bridesmaids dressed to be boring look-alike’s. The current trend is to mix and match bridesmaids dresses in various styles, designs and colors, and bring them all together with one or two unifying factors. This could be the color, dress length or design.

So, you get to pick these factors and inform your girl friends of your choice. Then, let them find dresses that meet your specifications, but also appeals to them. Pick a color family and allow them to choose the shade that looks best on them, or choose a dress pattern and allow them to pick different colors in the same design. Another option is to fix a specific color and allow them the freedom to choose any dress in this color.

With mismatched bridesmaids dresses, the group looks dynamic and energetic, and you will also find your bridesmaids looking happy in their choice. Visit Best for Bride to find inspiration and choose from hundreds of wonderful Bridesmaids dresses that your favorite girlfriends will love to wear again and again.

How to Make Your Own Bridal Bouquet

A bouquet is a personal touch that often incorporates the wedding colors or theme. More brides are creating handmade accents for their weddings including the wedding bouquets. Whether you want a traditional floral bouquet or something nontraditional, you can easily make your own bridal bouquet. Follow these simple steps to learn how to make your own bridal bouquet.

There are several types of bridal bouquets and flowers for the rest of the bridal party. The traditional bouquet is a hand-tied flower bouquet. A cascade bouquet has a trail of flowers and foliage that hang below the main bouquet. The Biedermeier is a striped bouquet of different types of flowers created by aligning the same type of flowers in circles. A pomander is a ball covered with flowers that is held dangling by a ribbon.

Floral Bouquet

The type of flowers used for a bouquet may be chosen based on what is available in the wedding colors. If you are using fresh flowers, prepare the flowers by removing any leaves and thorns from the stems. Select three or four of the flowers that you want as the central flowers and hold them tight in the position you want them. Add one flower at a time to the bouquet evenly around your central flowers.

After the main flowers are placed as desired, you can add filler flowers along some of the edge of the bouquet and among the main flowers. Baby’s breath is a traditional choice for filler flowers, however other flowers that feature clusters of small flowers or berries can be used as filler. Some flowers used as filler include seeded eucalyptus, aster, bouvardia, wax flowers, trachelium, and delphinium.

This classic, hand-tied clutch bouquet also could be made with silk flowers instead of fresh flowers. The cascade bouquet style can be made by adding longer flowers like orchids or using floral wire to connect flower blossoms in trails under the bouquet.

When you are happy with the overall appearance of the bouquet, you can wrap the stems tightly with floral tape. Once the flowers are secured in the arrangement with tape, trim the stems so that they are all the same length. The tape can then be covered with satin ribbon and lace to achieve the desired look. The finished floral bouquet should be wrapped in tissue paper and placed in the refrigerator.

 Craft or Theme Bouquet

Some brides are opting for a nontraditional bouquet that shows off their craft diva side. Bouquets of colorful buttons or items that reflect the theme of the wedding are popular choices. Are you having a unique wedding? Make a theme bouquet using objects related to the theme. To create these unique bouquets, the bouquet form is created with a styrofoam ball and either a bouquet holder or stick to hold the ball. For a pomander or brooch bouquet for the bride or flower girl, ribbon can be used to hold the styrofoam ball. The ball is then decorated with items that reflect the bride’s personality or wedding theme such as flowers made from colorful buttons, pearls, shells, lace, or silk flowers. If a stick is used, the stick can be transformed into a pretty holder by covering it with layers of tulle, ribbon, and lace.
