I have been dating my high school sweetheart for 8 and a half years before he finally proposed! It was two days before my birthday and we had asked his family to come over for a BBQ. He was over before his family and he helped us get everything ready. I was setting up the table and then I noticed my boyfriend was gone. I asked my dad where he went and he said he sent him to go buy something for the garage. I was thinking, is right now the best time for that ... Then my mom kept insisting I fix my hair, and wear something nicer. I didn't really give this a second thought though. His family came over and after eating we went to pick cherries. It was nice that we were the only ones there. My boyfriend was on a ladder picking cherries and then he turned around with a beautiful ring around the stems of two cherries and said that I was the sweetest cherry. He climbed down, said he loves me and asked the big question! I was so shocked even after always expecting it in the back of my mind. After about 30 seconds, he asked again. I snapped out of it, said yes, started tearing out of joy and hugged him. His sister took pictures (now it made sense why she brought the professional camera). Everyone knew except for me. Turns out when he went to "go buy something for the garage", he was actually asking the owner of the cherry farm if we could come in because he had unexpectedly closed it that day. Everything that happened started to make sense... We ended up taking more pictures and then came back home to celebrate with champagne! I couldn't have asked for a better proposal that included both our families. Every time I look at my ring, I get super excited and cannot wait to marry him! | ||
