Teresa and Steven - Dream Came True Proposal Story

It started out like any other Friday, I couldn't wait to get home from work as we were doing what I thought was a couples photo shoot for a friends portfolio. Matt had contacted me on the Monday and said that he needed some couples shots for his portfolio and the couple that he had booked backed out at the last minute and would Steven and I be willing to fill in for them. I talked to Steven and as much as he said he didn't want to do it he said he would. All that week I heard about how he didn't want to have his photos taken, could he wear his hat etc ....
I normally work in the Angus office for work, but on the Thursday my boss asked me to work in the Barrie office. I wasn't thrilled but said yes as now I had to race home to get changed and then race back into Barrie. I could not decide what to wear, so Steven picked out my entire outfit, right down to my shoes. When we got into Barrie Matt told us that we were going to go to Sunnydale Park. I was so excited as Steven and I do not have a lot of really good pictures together. We got to Sunnydale and started posing for pictures, laughing and having a great time. At one point Matt said "we are going to take some special pictures here" and then Holly asked me to go for a walk with her. In my head I was thinking "oh my god is he going to propose". We got back to where the guys were getting eaten alive by mosquitos took a few pictures and then walked away to find another spot. Deep down I was disappointed as he had let another great opportunity pass by. A few minutes later we stopped to take some more pictures. Matt told Steven to get down on one knee and move in close to me. I started laughing as I thought it was hilarious. Matt kept telling me to move my head this way and that way as I had shadows on my face. What he was really doing was getting me to not see Steven pull the ring out of his pocket. I looked down to see Steven with a huge smile on his face as he told me "you are my best friend and I can't imagine my life with anyone else, will you marry me." Shocked and in pure disbelief I said yes! I had been waiting for this for years. As Matt, Holly and Steven started laughing I started putting things together, Steven had planned this entire thing but let me believe that I did. He confessed that when he told me he was going to a bait shop that week to look at knew tackle with a buddy, that he actually drove up and asked my Dad, Step-mom, Mom and Step-dad for permission to marry me and then set up everything for the Friday night. I couldn't believe it. My dream had come true; I was finally engaged to my best friend! |
