Kaytlyn & Kevin proposal at weekend getaway

Just this past Christmas Kevin and I decided to have my family come to our place for Christmas Eve and dinner for the first time. After dating for 3 years, everyone in both of our families were just waiting for him to pop the question, and many of them thought this would be the day. Christmas morning came and I was nervous with anticipation. I emptied my stocking and opened all my gifts, family watching intently, but no ring. Finally Kevin passed me his phone to show me a confirmation for a weekend getaway at a ski resort for New Years. Yes! I was convinced he would ask me at dinner on New Years Eve. So I started the count down.
We packed up, made the long trek up and settled in to our amazing hotel room, then hit the hills. The weather was less than ideal for skiing (fellow Ontarians know exactly what I mean). It was 8 degrees Celsius with scattered showers. We suffered through it for a couple of hours and got in some good runs (and a few falls) when on our last ride up on the lift, it started to pour. By the time we got to the top we were both looking awfully glamorous and Kevin's feet were starting to bother him. Kevin needed a break to take his skis off and stretch while I tried to stay warm. He shuffled around with his boots a little and before I knew he was on one knee holding out the most perfect ring and said "Will this warm you up?" I stared at him in disbelief. "Will you marry me?" "Yes" I squeaked out and started to cry. As he put the ring on my finger and hugged me, the rain stopped, and we were able to see the misty hills in the distance, bask in the moment, and finally ski down our last run triumphantly.
