On December 23, 2016, I found out I had the next day off work. When you do shift work and the shifts are long, a day to rest is welcomed with open arms. I was so happy because the holidays are so busy and I would get the spend the whole next day in relaxation mode, with my man.
The next morning something strange happened, he woke up before me and was cooking breakfast. Usually I am the first one up and I take care of breakfast. When I asked if he needed help he told me to go to bed and relax. Not wanting to argue that logic I promptly jumped back into bed. About 10 mins later he brings in an omelette, with cut fruit on the side and a morning beverage. Once breakfast was done, he took my plate to the kitchen and came right back and sat beside me in bed. At this point he asked me what I thought about us getting married. As this had been a previous conversation, I told him that I thought he knew how I felt about our future. After that, he pulled a small box our of his night stand and my heart leaped. He gave me the box and asked me, "Will you marry me?" In shock I screamed ,"YES!" Then tried to not cry, and failed. At this point I opened the box and found my ring! He then stated, "This isn't your Christmas gift." I was so ecstatic, I forgot that it was Christmas... |
