I'm Courtney from Lincolnton, NC. I'm a 24 year old singer, and work in childcare. I've been dating the amazing Donteviest (King) for a year who I love so much. He's my bestfriend, as well as accompanist.. He's a musician as well.. That's why we are perfect for each other lol. On March 27, 2016 (Easter Sunday) I went to church with my then boyfriend, expecting nothing. At the end of the service.. There were 3 baby dedications .. Then I saw Donteviest walk away from they keyboard with a bouquet of roses. Heart started racing because it was evident what was about to take place!! He asked me to come up.. And I was nervous as ever! Long story short.. He always calls me his queen, so he had his aunt crown me with a Tiara to make me feel like one. He expressed his love to me in front of the entire church. His nickname for me is "Sunflower".. Because he says I'm so bright and beautiful and always easy to be around. But he had not a 12 but 13 roses. The roses symbolized our relationship with thorns being the first thing to grow, God has plucked the thorns from the roses to get us to where we are today. The 13th rose was artificial and actual a ring holder.. Then he knelt down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!! The best day of my life!!! Of course my answer was YES!!! Someone filmed the moment live on Facebook and in just 2 days it's climbing close to 10K views at around 7K!!! So many great responses about how love and real men still exist!!! This is a day I'll never forget! Date is still to be determined but I can't wait til that special day.. We're in no rush because we want to be completely set and stable with no worries! Thanks for allowing me to share my story! |
