I had been planning a birthday dinner for my boyfriend at the time in april 2013. It was going to be great, all of his friends and family in one place which isnot something that happens very often. It was supposed to be a surprise for him and everyone was doing such a great job at keeping it a surprise but apparently I wasn't the only one that was planning a surprise. I found out that Months beforehand he had told his friends he wanted to purpose with everyone around so knowing that I was planning a surprise dinner with all of his friends, they had told him that they think it would be better to do it with just the two of us because it would be more intimate and that he should do it on his birthday seeing we would have been spending tge day with "just the two of us" so now have all 30 people who were initially invited to the surprise birthday dinner trying to hide a surprise from me as well. When we had arrived at the restaurant you could tell he was a bit on edge about something(maybe the fact that all his friends told him it would only be him and myself at this dinner), everytime I turned around to talk to him he was gone. At the end of the dinner I was waiting for the waitress to bring out his cake with the candles when she started walking towards me with it. I had assumed it was a mistake and pointes to him to remind the waitress that it was his birthday and not mine but she had just ignored me and kept walking my way. I was a bit angry because I didnt want her to ruin the moment for him but when she arrived at the table she put the plate in front of me with a ring box on it. In shock, I quietly looked at her with a very apologetic look on my face for assuming that she had forgotten who's birthday it was and that was going to ruin it. Everyone in the restaurant stopped what they were doing and started cheering, we even had one of the waiters hop up onto an empty table trying to capture the moment with his phone. As much as everyone was excited they had all told me that they were happy the day was over because it was hard keeping two different secrets from two different people, regarding the same birthday dinner. They couldn't tell him that there was going to be 30 people and they obviously couldn't tell me he was going to propose. | |
