My now fiance and I have been together for 6 years. We met at a local bar in 2009 in our city where everyone pretty much knew everyone. I was seeing someone else at the time but we slowly became best friends. It was so obvious what connection we had because small things like meeting up in Toronto to take the same train was so much fun.
Our engagement turned out being a hot mess but at the end it was so memorable and a story I will never be bored to tell. On July 12th 2016 we were in Mexico for our yearly trip. On the second day of our week vacation Tom had planned a photo shoot with the photographer at our resort. Tom had the ring in his pocket. The shorts I picked out for him to wear were too tight( of course). We took numerous pictures on this private part of the ocean.The last photo of me looking at the ocean he was gonna be behind me on one knee but sadly the ring fell in the sand before this. He took the box out of his shorts and it fell out in the sand. He than made up a story about how he lost a token for the photographer. At this point I was like what are you talking about because we've done this many times at other resorts. He raced back to the room to check if it fell out in the hotel room. He began to cry and sit on the sand and I than thought omg what has he done!!! He began to take out a sheet of paper out of his dress shirt pocket. He read his sweet words to me. This is when he got down on one knee proposing with a empty box. Luckily he had it all insured so I could get a new one when we got back. We searched for 3 hours till dark. We couldn't see anything, we even used my flash light from my phone. He wanted to go and come back the next day to keep looking. I said one more section of the sand and we will go. I wiped the sand 3 times and I saw the band part sparkle!!! I fell backwards and started to scream and balled my head off. Tom said a few more things and put it on my finger. At this point it was on my finger but I still didn't see it, so we looked at it together with my phone cause I didn't see it till he put it on!!!! It was incredible and a story I can never forget. If this doesn't show us we are great as a team and we are meant to be than nothing else will ever matter |
