Hi Everyone!!
I hope you enjoy the pictures as well as the story - let me tell you it was a dream come true for us!
Brett & I recently bought a house in early September so I thought that there was NO WAY we would be getting engaged anytime soon. With a new house and all the unexpected expense that come with it I just figured it would come in due time. Little did I know Brett had a different idea ... One afternoon at the end of the school day a student of Ashleys got called to the office. Now this student spends a fair bit of time in the office so Ashley wasn't too surprised that he was called down. Upon return to the classroom the student handed Ashley a note that said "Miss Shaver, Will you marry me?" Ashley asked right away (in a little annoyed tone - as she thought her co-workers were playing a trick on her) "Who gave this to you?" Just as Ashley said that, Brett came around the corner, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Ashley started shaking right away (and crying) and quickly hugged Brett. They hugged for a moment and then Brett asked, "Well are you going to say yes?" They laughed together and she said yes! Remember!! Brett asked Ashley in front of all her students!! Her students are still talking about it to this day. Picture 2 - Brett asking Ashley to marry her. (and the kids clapping) Picture 3 - Ashley & Brett hugging moments after she said yes.
