Our story began with a phone call from a mutual friend, he called to say that a buddy was interested in meeting me.
To be honest I wasn't, I mean I was about to go back to college, and was quite focused on that as well as being a full time mommy to my son. With a little convincing I said ok, and allowed my number to be passed along. Later that evening Adam called, we talked for 5 hours! We continued to talk and fall asleep non the phone every single night for months. We shared feelings, experiences, talked about our children and life in general. One night I shared a story with Adam that I had prayed for him, and as I continued on with the details I realized Adam was crying, he told me, he too had prayed for me, he had laid out in his parents field, broken and tired and prayed his heart out. We decided to meet face to face, we set a date and he drove from Dunnville to London on a Saturday afternoon. I was sooooo excited!! When he finally arrived, I received the best hug ever! He lifts me off the ground and it is a moment we will never forget! At last! Like the Etta James song, is how I can best describe our love and unity. We continued on until I finished my college course and decided that the best thing for us and our children was that I move to Dunnville. So June 2014 I said goodbye to London, and we moved in together. Adam is more than a lover, he is my best friend. I haven't had the best life, and neither has he. It is the best feeling in the world to be able to finally say that we have found each other, we both agree that no matter what all the pain, heartache and disappointments we went through were part of our destiny and if one detail had been different we never would have met. Our big day is approaching, September 12,2015 and we are so excited to be surrounded by our friends and family under the eyes of God and seal our undying commitment to each other. |
