So this is a clip of when I proposed to my girlfriend on 23/05/14. We've known eachother for about 6 years. DEFINITELY HAVE GROWN on eachother and with eachother through the years. We've had a share of trials but have overcame very difficult situations. From when I wanted to date her I knew that I wanted to marry her, there wasn't any doubt in my mind. She has a 6 year old son and God has allowed me to be in his life as a Father figure so I know that our union is not just based on attraction or the physical. it's attraction physical emotional & mental... mental in the sense of we have always been aware of eachother and saw through the eyes of love with confidence and not just our emotions. anyway i'm rambling so the month of MAY, I decided to spoil her rotten like I always do, decided to just treat her in any way possible whether it was seeing a movie or going out to dinner or just having heart to hearts. it was amazing, she was able to get her hair done, her nails done in preparation to the proposal. but she was unaware of it all and because of finances and other hindrances she had her heart set on a much later time for us to get engaged or to even begin planning fully for a wedding. so anyways, we had a really tough time with my family not accepting her because she had a child down to other people not wanting to see us united, sooo i was super nervous in seeing the outcome of my decision to engage my girlfriend. I decided to lay it out on the table and show my parents and siblings the ring just to get the hard part over with, and then I showed her parents what my plans were, they were behind me 100 percent. everything I thought will never happen concerning family started happening when i took this step. on the day of i bought orchards for my lady which is her favorite flower, in doing this i already had in mind of a rose that she had kept since valentines day and she swore to never give it up until she got engaged. so instead of getting her another rose I got her her favorite flowers to symbolize our unity and a new beginning and a fresh new page in our book of our journey through life together. I brought the ring and the flowers to show her mom before picking up janay. told her mom that the rose she kept represented all the negativity and drama that we gone through, because she kept the rose for so long it's dead and just like all the drama and stresses i believe that all that is dead with it. and the orchards is a symbol of hope and new beginnings for all of us. her mom was weeping with Joy and overwhelming love and expressing her love for her daughter and myself. it was such a sound moment, i woouldn't trade it for the world. so anyways i brought the orchards to my girlfriend she was so excited, thinking we are just going out for dinner, she was dressed for the occasion without knowing it was the day she has been waiting for. i took her and two other friends to the cn tower, it was all of our first times. God provided for me to be able to cover for it financially with such great support and great people behind me. that's where we took this photo attached. so i was planning to propose in the elevator but she didn't want to wait till it was empty, forcing me to change my plans because she wanted when she was proposed to that it would be intimate and i kept that in mind so i changed my mind and waited till we got out the elevator and in the hallway leading to the city when we were all alone i explained the analogy of the flowers and us coming from ashes to beauty and how the orchards symbolized new beginnings and then she was walking pretty fast loool i was trying hard to keep up then i pulled her and asked her to marry me and she said .... NO NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOL watch the link above but then she eventually said yes. she thought i was going to get a walmart ring cause i couldn't afford anything that i desired to get her, so she had her heart set on whenever she saw the ring that it won't be anything special, but thanks to my peoples in PEOPLE'S JEWELERS they made our engagment sooo special. sorry for the essay, i love my fiance and just hoping for many blessings because we have been through way too much :) |
