What Happens In Vegas by Lindsy and Jason

On August 5th 2010 three of my best friends and I traveled to Las Vegas for "Girls Weekend". Although I had NO IDEA what Jason had in store for me. Jason, my best friends and his buddies had been coordinating a surprise engagement for months.
My girlfriends and I were leaving for Las Vegas on Thursday night, although Jason had left on Wednesday to go on a "Fishing Trip" in Pittsburgh with his friend Andrew. I always get really sad when we are apart so I was very upset that Jason left a night before me to go fishing. I was annoyed and actually a little pissed off although I was not aware that he was actually driving down to my parents' house to meet with them and ask my dad for his approval to take my hand in marriage. It was funny because when I talked to Jason Wednesday night he told me all about how he had caught some "River Monsters" earlier in the day. Little did I know he would catch the biggest "River Monster" of all that weekend - ME! My girlfriends and I took off for Las Vegas on Thursday night and Jason and his friend, Andrew, had already flown out there that morning - I had no idea. Upon landing in Vegas I actually tried calling Jason and I was upset he did not pick up the phone. My girlfriends told me not to worry about it and to call when we got up to the hotel room but I, of course, was a mess and bitched the entire cab ride about how Jason was ignoring me!!! We then went to the hotel to check in and while we were standing in line I realized that, to my surprise, the love of my life was not ignoring me! He was already there waiting for me!!! 2000 MILES AWAY FROM HOME! While we were waiting in the long boring line, one of my friends randomly screamed "Lindsy! Look!" and pointed directly behind me. As I turned around I saw JASON sprinting towards me! He came sliding over on one knee (actually fell on the way over ;) ) extended out a little red box with a beautiful engagement ring in it and asked me "Lindsy Alyse Simpson, The love of my life, Will you lawfully get engaged to ME!? AND ... ". He was very nervous, so he kind of messed up and before he could correct himself I bent down and screamed "YES, YES, YES!!!" in his face - kissed him, and gave him a HUGE hug! I was so shocked and surprised! Everyone around us cheered & screamed! It was so unpredicted and surprising! I had no idea that "Girls Weekend" in Vegas would turn into one of the most memorable weekends in my life and that Jason would catch the biggest "River Monster" in the world on his fishing trip!! It felt great to have all of our friends there to share that experience with us!! Not to mention we were in Las Vegas, so we could celebrate all weekend!! J Good luck!! Lindsy |
