Jessica and Adam - Imperfectly Perfect Proposal

Tuesday march 26 2013, my boyfriend and I get his son every other week he had been with us for one day already and was sick that night. We decided to keep him home from school on the Tuesday but I had a doctors appointment to get a needle ( something I'm extremely terrified of). My boyfriend his son myself and our 2 month old baby girl all went. I ended up getting the needle quick and easy trying to stay calm so I don't scare a 6 year old off of getting them too. After we got home my boyfriend told me he had some running around to do so I stayed at home with the kids, he came home about an hour later and I was doing sand art with my step son. As Adam (my boyfriend) walked in the door, Kaden (my step son) yells out "did you get the ring". His reply was no obviously lol. A little while later Kaden was obviously feeling better and he asked if we could all go to the park so we decided we would take the dog to be able to run around while we were there. We ended up going to Queenston park, a favorite of ours to take Kaden and the dog. We were there for about an hour walking around showing Kaden the monument and the giant tree with crazy branches that Adam and his sisters used to climb on at Kaden's age. After a while we decided to hit up the park one last time to let Kaden play before we left. While standing there Adam came over and gave me a hug and a kiss on the forehead, nothing out of the ordinary until he started talking. We've had a hard year an he brought that up and how he's never been happier than where we are at now, trying to be romantic and sweet, until I look to my right and Kaden is standing there. All of a sudden he says " are you going to do it already?" I immediately start laughing and Adam chuckles and just as he's about to answer him Kaden says "well if your not going to do it than I will" and we all start laughing again. Next thing you know Adam is on his knee pulling out a ring and asking me to be his wife and mentioning how he wasn't planning to do it that way but the moment felt right. I said yes! Then out of nowhere the best part, Kaden says " well congratulations you got yourself a beautiful wife!" and walks away. My heart melted! he even wrote "congratulations Adam and jess" in the sand beside the swings where it happened. In the moment I didn't cry because of the laughs at our 6 year old. Thinking back to it now brings tears to my eye with how cute it all was for not being planned. The best part is when we had first started dating he had mentioned that if he was going to propose to me it was more than likely going to be at that park. Girls dream about their proposal days and wanting to make sure they have the best story to tell everyone, and it may not have been in front of a million people, or video taped, but to me it was perfect. We had his 6 year old son soon to be my step son our beautiful 2 month old little girl and our German Sheppard doggy, and I would never change anything about it. I did manage to take pictures before while walking around to always have as a memory of that day :) | ||||
