A Very Special TeenVogue Photo and Video Interview - Alan and Alan Proposal

I was asked to be photographed and interviewed as one of the young, stylish, and emerging tech entrepreneurs in NY for a TeenVogue special on NYC Inspiring Females. My company recently launched, www.thatsfoxy.com, so this opportunity was amazing for me. I was asked by another female entrepreneur that was also chosen. Working in this business -- tech and fashion -- I've frequented many cool opportunities through friends and industry contacts. I jumped at it and didn't think it was out of the ordinary!
The day of the shoot I had a makeup call time, which I was late for.... but made it and then an hour later was at Pier 45 in NYC for behind the scene footage. After the video footage, the photographer showed up with my fellow friend and we began shooting. I am in zoolander mode facing New Jersey posing away with the photographer's instructions. Suddenly I hear music behind me. I kept focused on the photographer but wondered what was going on behind me. The music was so moving and beautiful. I did not recognize it. The water was calm, sun setting, and skyline of New Jersey was what I was facing. Then the photographer said, "look to the right." I did, and there my boyfriend, Alan Chan, was standing still. I thought he showed up because he was proud of me. He tends to pop in and out. We're both tech entrepreneurs with crazy schedules and intertwined lives. Then after a few seconds, looking over where the music was coming from and seeing everyone frozen, it hit me. The JAMBOX wireless speaker was brought there. I broke down in tears... a sea of tears! Perfect for the song title that was playing! He proposed but then after I asked, "wait... am I really in TeenVogue!??" No, it was a set up by Alan but the entire proposal is caught on film and pics. Thank you! I hope you enjoy the video as much as we do! It was such a special moment. |
