Chris and Cari Most Romantic Proposal

Chris and I had been together for almost five years when he proposed and even though we had talked about getting married quite often, I still didn't see it coming when he popped the question.
On the morning of our five year anniversary I woke up late and was rushing to get ready for work when I realized Chris was still home from work. He told me he hadn't slept well and had called in sick. I continued to rush around getting ready for work, fearing that I was about to be very late. When I had finished getting ready I came into the bedroom to find Chris sitting on the bed. He asked if he could give me my present now and pulled out a packed bag. He then informed me that we were going to Niagara falls for a little getaway. I was so surprised and it was the most thoughtful thing anyone had done for me before but I was completely shocked and in disbelief because I had to work. He had arranged the whole thing with my boss months before! We then spent the day in Niagara on the lake tasting wines and driving around the beautiful countryside. Chris took me for a wonderful dinner at the falls view keg and then we walked down by the falls to the end of Clifton Hill, where there's a bandstand park to watch the fireworks over the falls. Little did I know, Chris was planning on proposing in this very spot, however as we got closer to the park, we realized there was a battle of the bands competition going on and there was a band playing Rocking in the Free World. We finally found a spot off to the side that was fairly private where we could watch the fireworks. About a minute into the fireworks Chris got down on one knee, pulled out the most beautiful ring I had ever seen and asked me to marry him. I was so shocked I nodded yes because I could barely speak through the shock and tears. He put so much effort and planning into the proposal and it was the most romantic thing anyone has ever done for me. When we got back to the city he had a surprise engagement party waiting for us. It was the best day and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with a wonderful man. |
