When deciding on a color and style for your bridesmaids' dresses, keep in mind the skin tone, shape, and height of those in the bridal party.
Be mindful: What looks good on Megan may not be that flattering on Carrie.
If you're open to ideas, it's tempting to ask everyone what color they'd like to wear ... DON'T! That could incite a war.
To keep the peace, here's a quick, three-step tip.
First: Get a full-length picture of each bridesmaid and find three colors you like and think will look good on everyone and email them to your maids. Let majority rule.
Next: Follow up with three shades of the chosen color. Here is where they can enact their autonomy and choose their own shade (if of course you're ok with multiple shades, if you aren't, skip this step).
Lastly: Send the ladies three styles (in the chosen color if possible). Let majority rule if you want them uniform, or let each choose the style they want if uniformity isn't of necessity to you.
This 3-step tip will help minimize options and potential stress.
