Mike and I were in Jamaica we kept getting phone calls from the front desk, they were ALL for Mike. When I asked questions he said little and cracked a joke - typical Mike! I had no idea wtf this front desk lady kept calling for and it went on for like 4 days. A bit frustrated the fourth night I asked one last time and Mike asked me if we could talk about it over dinner. Although I was hungry as always, I was a bit worried, confused; imgine it was you. You've been in a foreign country for a day and your boyfriend is getting calls everyday from the front desk and not telling you anything. As we walked to dinner he took my hand and led me through the restuarnt and as I went to sit each time he said no, finally he said we are sitting over there and pointed out to a candle lit gazebo out by the water. Mike is NOT romantic and we had talked about marriage - even looked at rings and I had picked one but knew that he didn't have money for it. So I thought - okay an early birthday gift. When we got out there he explained that the lady at the front desk that I may or may not have been ready to slap - jk but seriously was calling and cancelling a dinner right on the beach as it was too windy and finally Mike said just put it at the gazebo. Well at the end of my lobster dinner - which is my fav btw Mike said " I want to ask you something" and walked over to me and got on his knee and fumbled through him pocket. Next came the four words that I will never forget "Will you Marry me?" followed by a minute later as I store blankly at him "Say something please?" Then I realized oh snap back to reality "Yes, I wouldn't want to marry anyone else". Turns out he is somewhat romantic and the thought he put into our engagement will prob be the last of our romantic ventures but he had me at lobster! And now 2 years & a baby later we have set a date and are ready to get hitched! | |||
