I'll start with a little background information about us. Danny and I first met back in 2015 when we were both working at Lacoste. During that time, we were just friends/ co-workers and called each other "bros". We went off to explore other jobs but somehow found each other back at Lacoste a year later. One night after a closing shift, we were both stuck waiting for a bridge on our way home. It gave us the chance to see who we are outside of work. Thanks to that bridge, here we are engaged and getting married! :D
Danny and I got engaged May 10, 2017. Since Danny was busy the next day which was our 8 months, we decided to have dinner the night before to celebrate. (Danny likes to celebrate every month, he writes me a love letter on the 11th of every month - I know cheesy right? lol) He had white lilies (my favourite) delivered to my house earlier that day. My family speculated something was up since he has never sent me flowers before but I decided to shrug it off since it was a "special occasion" We had reservations at the Keg over looking Niagara Falls. Dinner was delicious and the view was fabulous. We even dressed up to impress which is a rare occasion for us since we love to dress down and casual. After dinner, he suggested we walk down to Oakes Garden Theatre (our special place) to digest. We were just enjoying each other's company, taking selfies near the tulips when this girl approached us asking if we wanted our pictures taken. We accepted the offer and posed to get our pictures taken. But her camera wasn't working. We waited and waited but it refused to work for us so she apologized and we went off to continue our walk. After that encounter, I could feel her presence around us. I could hear the clicking noises and the flashes of light from her camera, circling around us. I was SO creeped out! I started wondering why there was a girl at the park in the dark at such late hours! I started thinking "What is she planning to do with our pictures?" I was scared. Then the girl approached us again, saying "The camera is working now. Do you still want your pictures taken?" And she started snapping pictures and I started getting more and more creeped out. Danny was also trying to get away which is why I did not suspect anything. Once she left, I told Danny, "That was so weird. I'm so creeped out." Danny agreed and just like that we continued our walk. Then it happened. Once we reached the top of the stairs, Danny got down to his knees, pulled out a ring and started his speech to ask the most important question. Out in the corner of my eyes, all I saw was the same girl jump out of nowhere clicking away, snapping our photos! I had a hard time focusing on the proposal because my attention was all on this creepy photographer! loll Of course, Danny had hired her to take our pictures as he proposed. But with her camera hiccup, everything was falling apart. I confessed how creeped out and scared I was and she even apologized saying "OMG, if I were you, I would be so creeped out right now" loll It wasn't the romantic, fairytale proposal every girl dreams about but it is a memorable one I will never forget. xD I've attached some of our pictures from that night. I'm surprised they turned out okay even though I was so freaked out lol Thanks for taking the time to read our proposal story! :) |
