After a long journey of waiting patiently for each other, the day finally came when my love, Joshua, asked to spend His life with me. Though falling in love has a story of its own, I will only share of the most recent chapter of our story: the day Joshua proposed to me. While we were in Rocky Point, Mexico on a mission trip, we stayed in a beach house with several others. Saturday night, everyone left for the market place, leaving Joshua and I alone to enjoy the beach together. The Mexico mission trips have always had a special place in my heart because Joshua and I first met on the same mission trip only five years ago. Walking hand in hand along the silent beach, the sun gently dipped into the water on the horizon, leaving a beautiful spread of soft red and orange colors across the sky. Occasionally, a cool breeze would blow through my hair as I breathed in the fresh ocean air. "Nothing could be wonderful at this moment," I thought. Joshua looked tenderly into my eyes as we moseyed barefoot through the sand, sharing with me how grateful he was to have me by his side. Distracted by his smile, I was nearly oblivious to a white envelope, half exposed and half buried in the sand. Joshua prodded me to reach for it, hinting it was strategically placed for me. Opening the envelope, I uncovered a letter, which had been written to God; a prayer, actually. Tears filling my eyes, I read the prayer Joshua had written to God about his love for me on the day first day we met. Joshua knew I was the one for him and asked God, in the letter, to give him patience to wait for me, the girl he would someday marry. We kissed for a moment and continued walking until I came across another letter, half buried in the sand. This letter had been written several years after the first. The letter was yet another prayer Joshua wrote, asking God to prepare us for each other because, he prayed, the time for us to be married would come soon. With the sun disappearing almost entirely into the water, I hugged Joshua tightly. I found one more letter in sand; a recent prayer Joshua wrote, thanking God for gift he had in me. Joshua said he had one more last gift to give me. Taking a few more steps, I uncovered a journal, buried beneath an "X" in the sand. "The Life-Story of Michelle and Joshua" was written on the cover. Before I could say anything, Joshua bent down on one knee, pulling a beautiful ring from his pocket, sharing, "I want more than anything to spend the rest of my life writing the chapters of our life story together in the pages of this journal. Michelle Joan, will you marry me?" Of course, I wanted nothing more than to be his wife! We are now planning to be married in June, 2012!
So tell me about your experience at Barrie Best for Bride.
When I walked in they were very welcoming and greeting and it is so beautiful and big store and able to go and take a look at all the dresses and styles and go and actually pick some out ourselves that we would like to try on instead of having consultant just pick ones for you. And very comfortable, very big, open spaces, able to look and try different things. And plenty of time, no pressure, a lot of time to take a look around, try on all different dresses that I wanted to. Everything was great and really wonderful.
And we FOUND THE DRESS.
Yeah, we found the dress.
Please tell us about your experience at Best for Bride.
We came in today because I'm gonna panic because I'm gonna marry in two weeks and I absolutely hated my dress so I just mentioned a few things what I wanted and she pulled, the first dress that she pulled I put on and I loved it fits in and out in and out in literally in 25 minutes steaming it all. Yeah
Awesome, thank you ladies.
So ladies please tell me your experience at Best for Bride?
Unique. We came here after quite a disaster. We have been going through a lot. The wedding has been the last thing on our plate, so we were behind and we came here kind of ... and we managed to find my dress in the first hour that I love and it felt like being on an action show Say Yes to the Dress. Yeah, yeah that's wonderful yeah and it's really nice to have the ladies be there with you, compliment you, trying to find exactly what you need, they know what they are doing and that is just a really great experience. When I get married I definitely coming back here and that's for sure. We definitely coming back. And like mom said, we were going through a lot ... and this is one of those days where everything is so perfect. We came the day before and now tried it on and it fits you so gorgeously. Come here and you'll get your dress and you'll have the Best Experience. The ladies are Amazing. And the prices are good.
My experience with Best for Bride was quite positive over all. I found employees to be quite friendly. I found the service fast and efficient, both when choosing the dress and when doing alterations. I was extremely satisfied with the dress that I bought. Last, but not least, your prices can't be beat!
I've attached a photo from our wedding day that shows off most of the dress. I hope you'll like it.
I bought two "mother of the groom" dresses from Denise at Best for Bride in Barrie. The first wedding was on April 29, 2011. I have attached a picture showing the mother of the groom dress. The next wedding is June 25 - I will send the picture after that. The bride wore a dress that was made by a friend. I would like to thank Denise for a wonderful experience I had.
