Mike and i first met Jan 22, 2008 at a local coffee shop. We dated up until Jan 2010, i broke up with him (for reasons i will keep to myself). He tried for a few weeks to win back my trust, he sent me flowers, etc. and finally told me that he loved me. We got back together. About a week after that i was diagnosed with breast cancer, it was very scary time for me. I have no family in this province, they are all back in Newfoundland so having him here for me meant so much. I had surgery April 1st for a mastectomy and then about a month later for lymph node removal, i had stage 2 cancer. He has been there for me since day one and has been by my side, he works night shift and spends every day with me. He takes me to my chemo appointments and is there for all my other Doctor appointments.
I had an appointment the morning of June 1, 2010 for Reiki at Wellspring. He had cooked me breakfast and i was in the process of eating it when he bent down on my right side, i didn't clue in as to what was happening which makes it so funny, i thought he was just checking on me to see how my breakfast was. He then said "How much do you love me?". I of course still eating as i was on a time crunch and didn't look at him and said "lots". He then repeated the question and i said "lots. why? How much do you love me?" and then i looked at him. He had the ring in one had and said "marry me?". I was so shocked i just looked at him, looked at the ring and then back and him and said "yes!". He put the ring on my finger and then i had to finish eating to get to my appointment. I went to that appointment with the biggest smile on my face ever. He is my rock. He loves me no matter what i look like, even with no hair. I know that when we do get married he will be there for me no matter what, and this experience that i am going through has just proved it to me.
He was trying to find the right time to propose but every time an opportunity came up the ring was at this place, he wanted to hide it at mine but he thought i would find it by accident. The proposal was nothing fancy but that didn't matter to me, it came from his heart and that's all that mattered. We have set a date for Aug 18, 2012 and can't wait to marry my best friend.
How was your experience at Best For Bride today?
It was wonderful. We have been here for 3 hours and we had the best service and my daughter has ... is all set she can't decide which one and the people here the two consultants have just been very wonderful and have been so patient and encouraging and we recommend everybody come here and don't go anywhere else.

Well it started off rather poorly I guess you could say, but it turned out great, especially Barrie, the women are wonderful, the seamstress Kat is absolutely fabulous if I had to use her for anything else I'll be on the phone in a second to call her.

I wanted to thank everyone at best for bride once again for the wonderful service I received. When I arrived at your store I was pretty nervous. I had no idea what I was looking for, what would suite me or what I even wanted. My mother has been ill the last little while, and dress shopping was not something she could really participate in, making the ordeal that much more stressful. The staff at best for bride treated me like a daughter from the selection, to the fittings, right down to the alterations. I was so happy with my dress and it was well within budget. I got so many complements about my dress on and after the wedding day.
