Hi all,
I believe that history repeats itself. My parents are now happily married for 25 years. Now I am getting married in April 2008. I want to wear the same dress that my mother wore on her wedding. May be some of her luck would rub off on me….. Besides that dress is one of its own, so beautiful, and it would set me apart from the all the other brides, I hope for good (my fingers are crossed). But I want to get it altered to make it a fusion of old and new.

I know that alterations in a wedding gown are not a job of novices. That’s why I am on the lookout for an expert. Can you guys help me out with tips on what to look in a tailor…..and stuff like that. I don’t wanna spoil that gown, so guys start writing in now to HELP ME OUT.
Question

Hi……congrats to your parents on being together so long, I hope happily (just kidding). You folks are in short supply these days: your parents together for such a ling time and you wanna maintain that legacy…..you guys sure from earth? Anyways your query is pretty valid. Wedding gowns are pretty expensive, in your case invaluable I guess, and giving them to inexperienced hands for alterations is surefire way to disaster.

I would suggest an exhaustive research of the tailoring guys available. Go to some directory or online search to look out for good tailors available around your town. One pretty good option is alterations.com. Some of my friends, who had same problems, benefited a lot from it. Happy wedding…. Razz Laughing

first and foremost you need to know and prove the capabilities of the chosen taylor. there should be in possession a sense of originality coupled with nostalgic appreciation.
