How to plan your winter wedding

With winter knocking on the door, you might wonder whether it’s a good idea to organize your wedding during the cold season. The answer is: Yes! There is hardly a better time to gather all your loved ones together than during the holiday season. The festive atmosphere is already there but you still have to take care of few things while planning your winter wedding:

1. Winter Photos
Wedding Photos are a crucial part of the celebrations. Winter wedding photos are no different, except you have to make a few adjustments to accommodate to the climate change.
You can set your ceremony for an early time of the day – in this way, your guests will have the opportunity to take a photo with you, before the light outside fades. You should also get a nice warm jacket for between the photos!

2. Flowers
One major disadvantage of the winter weddings: you’ll have to double your efforts at finding the perfect florist!
Winter weddings are usually less desired than summer or spring ones and you can save a lot of money on the wedding venue or photographer, for example. This is not the case with flowers, however: they are far few flowers available during the season, so you’ll have to pay a little extra or consider getting different ones that you’d want at first. A quick tip: ranunculus and tulips are the most appropriate winter blooms!

3. Menu
Your guests will feel warm and cozy during your ceremony, that’s for sure. But you have to keep that special feeling after the reception, as well!
The rule for a winter-wedding menu is: mostly hot dishes. We are not saying that they are “forbidden” dishes but most people would appreciate a hot pureed soup more than an ice cream cake.
Bruschetta with melted cheese with mushrooms or mozzarella with tomato an excellent choice for hors d’oeuvres. Use your imagination! You can stick with the “winter-flavors”: pear, ginger, pumpkin, apple or mint.

4. Be prepared for some surprising “No”s
Weddings are special occasions for you, all your friends, close and not-so-close relatives. But bear in mind that the winter season is not everyone’s favorite. Moreover, it could be especially dangerous for your elderly guests. People, who live out of town might also decline due to the unpredictable weather conditions – airlines tend to delay their flights quite often during the winter.

5. Winter fashion
Nothing more important on a wedding than the bride herself.
Thankfully, the winter bridal fashion includes both stylish and practical elements. You can wear long sleeves in a Princess Kate-inspired look. Otherwise, if your dress is strapless, you can warm your shoulders with a faux fur and still look gorgeously elegant. If you’ve decided on a short dress, you should probably consider getting tights or stockings – goose skin never looks good on photos!

Thicker, satin fabrics are the best choice for a winter wedding dress. You can combine your look with special “icy” crystal bangles to bring the winter spirit with you!
And as far as shoes  are concerned, closed toe is your best friend during the winter season. There are literally thousands of designs, and feathers or crystal fans look absolutely stunning!

How To Choose The Right Wedding Shoes

Your wedding dress may be the highlight of your Big Day, but picking the right shoes is essential to making your wedding comfortable. Your wedding day is going to be a very long day and the last thing you’ll want to is have blisters a few hours into the special event. Once you have the right dress, it’s time to find the perfect shoes that are not only gorgeous, but are also comfortable. Here are some helpful tips on how to find the right shoes for your special day!

1. Comfort Trumps Style…

If you have in love with a pair of high-heeled stilettos, fall out of love with them real quick because your feet won’t stand a chance in them! Since weddings are long and you’re most likely be standing the majority of the day, comfort reigns supreme. You should pick a style that is comfy to be in all day. It’s totally fine for them to have a heel, but make sure that the heels are comfortable.

2. …But Make Sure You Still Like Them

Just because you want comfy shoes, doesn’t mean you need to skimp on style. Like any pair of shoes, you’ll want to make sure you can still wear them again and again with other things. Plus, you want to still feel beautiful and a great pair of shoes can really take your confidence up a notch. So make sure that the shoes you love are comfy and stylish.

3. Take Your Time

Since you want to make sure you find the perfect pair, don’t rush things. Take  your time when searching for the right pair of shoes for you wedding. Order online and then send back if they don’t make the cut. Do it over and over again until you feel like Cinderella. Some people even buy a ton of shoes and then pick the pair that they’ll wear for their wedding a couple of days before! And if you like them all and can’t decide, switch out the shoes at your wedding!

4. Add color

Sure, you can go with white or beige shoes, but a lot of brides are opting for more dramatic and colorful shoes to match the colors of their wedding. It’s the perfect way to make your shoes pop in pictures! Just make sure that the color matches perfectly with your wedding colors (if that’s what you want, of course).

Terrific Unique Destination Weddings For an Unforgettable Event

Styling and profiling

Styling and profiling!

So, pretty much every bride has heard of the concept of a destination wedding. It’s certainly not for everyone of course, and depends entirely on how fortunate you are when it comes to your budget, and ultimately upon the choice of you and your groom. For those that are unfamiliar with these fun and flirtatious weddings, a destination wedding is one that takes place at an exotic or popular location a good distance away from where you live. Some people choose Los Angeles or Niagara Falls or Banff for their destination wedding, but some choose still more exotic and faraway lands for their nuptials. If you’re looking for a truly interesting experience for your to-dos, here are some truly fantastic suggestions for your destination wedding.

Stonehenge

One of the most recognizable prehistoric artifacts of all time, Stonehenge could make for a wedding you and your guests will never forget. Stonehenge carries a sense of mystery, dignity, and beauty unique to its location that is one of the many reasons it makes such a special locale for a wedding. Entrenched with power and mystique, the air is charged with positive energy, perfect for the beginning of your union.

Cozumel

Okay, so it’s not the most outlandish of locations, but it’s not as cliched or common as Vegas or Paris for a destination wedding, either (not that those aren’t gorgeous places to be wed and wonderful cities to visit!). If you want a getaway wedding that’s well-known, but less prominent, and want it at a beach locale, think no further than Cozumel. It’s one of the most beautiful places in Mexico, if not the world over, and is chock-full of beautiful venue options and the friendliest people in the world to make your dreams come true.

Disneyland or Disney World

Again, not unheard of, but still a unique and rare enough opportunity, and I just couldn’t stop myself from including these magical places on the list! What better way is there to feel like a real, live fairy princess, like your love and marriage is as magical as you feel that it is? Disney is synonymous with childhood joy, but those happy feelings more often than not carry over into adulthood. I know it has for me, and for enough others that Disney has packages to choose from for the particular purpose of having your special day at one of their amusement parks.

Picking a venue for your wedding is a hard decision to make. It’s an enormous part of your budget and takes serious time and consideration before you find the right one, and that’s if they have something available for you when you want it. Still, though, shouldn’t your special day be all that you’ve ever dreamed it would be? Whether you want the magic and wonder of Disney or the Celtic tradition and splendor of Stonehenge, you’re a bride that knows what she wants, and you should definitely go for it. You know, after talking it over with your partner!

Planning A Truly Unforgettable Wedding

Your wedding day is something you look forward to for years and as such, when it comes time to plan you don’t want to hold back. The goal is to make all of your wedding day dreams come true and the best way to do that is by planning a truly unforgettable wedding.

Often the first impression your guests have of your wedding comes from the invitations so this is where you want to start making the day unforgettable. The first thing your invitations will do is set the tone for your wedding in advance so that your guests know what to expect. This can be the first step in getting them as excited about your wedding as you are.

A crucial part of the wedding planning process is making sure your reception will be enjoyed equally by you and your guests. One of the biggest factors in a successful wedding reception is the entertainment provided. Going all out to hire the best DJ to perform at your wedding is usually a good way to ensure that everyone has a desire to participate. Sparing no expenses when it comes to the entertainment will pay off on your big day. You want the best possible DJ money can buy and that means you have to hold your chosen DJ to some very high standards.

Your wedding day will only be as happy as the people who are attending it. For a truly unforgettable wedding your best bet is to limit your guest list only to people who will be as over the moon as you are on your wedding day. This includes people who might only show up out of obligation or to take advantage of the free meal and open bar. These are not the type of people you want at your wedding. It is better to save the money you would have spent on guests you don’t really want at the wedding and spend that money on say, the food, wine or cake instead.

Speaking of the cake, going all out with it can also contribute to an unforgettable wedding. Remember, each of your guests will be taking home a piece of the cake, so the larger and more luscious your wedding cake is the more it will cement your wedding in everyone’s heads as one of the most unforgettable they have ever been to. The key to making your cake memorable is to personalize it so it represents you and your fiancé as a couple. Adding a personal touch to it will delight your guests as well as your groom.

When you send your guests home at the end of the day you will want them to take with them some amazing favors. Anybody can send their guests home with a pen or a keychain. To send your guests off with something unique a mini plant or the promise they will donate to your favorite charity makes your wedding day even more memorable.
