Modern-day “Glass Slippers” For Your Wedding Day

If you’re looking for a modern-day “glass slipper” to wear as you walk down the aisle, you’ll need a delicate high heel that is embellished with glittering crystals. The perfect fairytale wedding requires plenty of attention to detail, so you should plan to spend a little time choosing the right footwear for your white wedding dress.

The best wedding shoes will be unforgettable – this is not the time for sensible shoes! However, since you will need to be on your feet for hours, comfort should always factor in. Ultimately, glamour is probably most important, so do be sure to indulge yourself with a fashionable “glass slipper” style design that will evoke all of the romance of Disney’s exquisite animated film, Cinderella.

To help you choose what’s best for your special day, we’ve put together some stunning, shimmering designs that will make you feel like a princess…

Sparkly Choices For A Fairytale Effect

wedding shoes

Icy faux diamonds evoke the lustre of a true glass slipper, and they are very affordable. This feminine sandal is adorned with lush rows of intertwined rhinestones that catch the light; these high heels are designed to show off a professional pedicure to its best advantage.

If you’re planning to perform the “garter” ritual in front of your wedding party, you’ll be proud to show off your sparkling sandals while your new husband removes your silk or lace accessory!

These sandals should always be worn with bare legs (no stockings, please) – this style of wedding shoe also requires moisturized and perfectly waxed (or shaved) legs for the ideal effect. Be sure to choose a fun shade of toenail polish for your wedding day – ballet pink is a favorite with brides-to-be, but any color can work!

Our shimmering sandals are so pretty, you’ll be sure to treasure them after your wedding is over…

Ankle Straps Are Sexy And Flirty…

 wedding sandal

Ankle straps add a sexy, flirty edge to your wedding outfit – without spoiling the fairytale fantasy. Highlight the lovely lines of your foot and lower leg with shimmering rows of clear gemstones!

Ankle strap sandals also offer a little more security as you walk down the aisle – since these types of high heels are fastened in place, they will minimize the possibility of tripping, or suffering from some other wedding-day “wardrobe malfunction” – you will have less chance of slipping out of this sandal than you would with a mule or slip-on pump…

Princess-Style Bridal Gowns Will Complete The Look

 wedding dress

Best For Bride specializes in helping brides-to-be to make their fairytale dreams come true. To get the whole Cinderella look, choose a gown with a fitted bodice and a full, voluminous skirt. The one-shouldered bridal dress shown above is festooned with gorgeous, silken blossoms and layers and layers of filmy tulle!

Also, be sure that your bridal rings and “glass slipper” wedding shoes coordinate with your overall look. Our bridal shops in Toronto are a great place to begin your hunt for the perfect wedding dress, cheap bridesmaid dresses, wedding cakes, and wedding invitations…plus everything else you need to plan your dream wedding.

We also offer a convenient online bridal store, so you can get the bridal dress you’ve always wanted, right from the comfort of your own home…

Goddess-Inspired Wedding Beauty

Channel your inner goddess with luxurious, perfect wedding dresses that offer a touch of timeless beauty. These bridal dresses are meant to highlight your own natural attributes without overpowering everything that is special about you.

If you’re looking for classical style for your own wedding day look, you’ll love these subtle, refined choices. We’ve also put together some amazing suggestions for goddess-inspired accessories, hair and makeup:

Stunning, Fluid Lines Never Go Out Of Style…

wedding dress

Simplicity can be so lovely…the white wedding dress shown above is a perfect example of the clean lines and fluid elegance found in the best goddess-inspired bridal gowns. This style needs little adornment – in fact, it may look better without a veil or a lot of jewelry. Pretty, high-quality bridal rings and simple wedding flowers will be the ideal complement to this classically feminine style.

Beauty And Makeup Tips -

A soft, wavy hairstyle and rosy makeup will add glamor to your overall look. A lush, velvety cream blush and rich mauve or berry lip color may also be wonderful choices that suit goddess bridal dresses. Simple eye makeup that adds a little definition will also look great – consider a thin line of brown or charcoal liner, only on the top lash line – finish with a coat of lengthening mascara (Lancome’s Definicils mascara in basic black will be perfect).

Moisturize your whole body with a soothing product, such as Body Shop Body Butter, on the morning of your wedding day. Make sure the product has dried on your skin before you put on your delicate bridal dress.

One-Shouldered Styles Capture The Essence Of Goddess-Inspired Beauty…

wedding gown

A one-shouldered bridal gown references classical style that is straight out of Greek and Roman mythology! If you’re looking for drama that is still so appropriate, formal, and sophisticated, you’ll adore wearing the style shown above – its gorgeous full skirt and fitted bodice will help you achieve an enviable hourglass silhouette as you walk down the aisle.

Striking and very grown-up, this womanly design will give you goddess style that thrills your wedding guests…and your groom-to-be!

Accessory Tips – You’ll need a good strapless bra to carry off this look. A long-line strapless bra will hold you in place and give you extra confidence. Wedding shoes in pure ivory satin will balance the strong impact of this wedding gown – unless you are very tall, you should go for 3-inch heels, perhaps in a strappy sandal design.

Draping And Pleating Are Classical…And Lovely To Behold…

bridal gown

Stunning draping and pleating are the key focal points of the goddess-inspired gown shown above. Artistry and painstaking craftsmanship meld with a touch of true sexiness – this bridal dress is definitely designed to flatter the female form.

Show off your curves and natural beauty by choosing this statuesque gown. Silky-soft, lustrous fabric will catch the light and add a glow to your skin, eyes, and hair. If you love fashionable wedding dresses with lush skirts and elegant draping, this gown could be the design you’ve been waiting for…

Beauty Tips

If you’re getting married in the hot summer months, add a touch of “sun” to your forehead, your cheeks, and the bridge of your nose – this is best achieved with a big, fluffy blush brush and a great, high-end bronzer – such as Guerlain’s Terracotta. The rest of your makeup should also be golden and warm – this look will work best if you have olive or yellow undertones.

Go for a 24 karat finish with shimmery eye shadows in gold, bronze, and ivory. Use the lightest shade to highlight the brow bone. Your lip color should be brick-red, soft taupe with golden gloss on top, or coral pink. Choose a warm, woodsy fragrance, such as Estee Lauder Sensuous, to channel your inner goddess…

Romantic Wedding Accessories You’ll Love

Now join your hands, and with your hands your hearts. – William Shakespeare

It’s February 14th, and the spirit of Saint Valentine, who sacrificed so much to unite lovers, lives on in all of us! Today, candy, paper hearts and velvety red roses are used as tokens of affection, and enthusiastic brides-to-be become even more excited about their own upcoming wedding days!

To celebrate the beauty of romance and commitment, we’ve put together an exciting list of the loveliest wedding accessories…these special touches will add polish, glamor, and style to your bridal gown.

To be the most romantic, stunning bride you can be, choose these ideal wedding “extras” and wear them with your own white wedding dress. You groom-to-be will be thrilled when you walk down the aisle, adorned in all the traditional wedding accessories of a truly gorgeous bride.

Tiaras

To feel like a princess as you marry, don a sparkling, shimmering wedding tiara worthy of royalty. Today’s affordable designs offer old-fashioned beauty and a reasonable price tag!

Luckily, rhinestones and cubic zirconium give the look of icy diamonds, without the sticker shock! Indulge by placing a glamorous tiara upon your head – you will feel amazing! Your groom-to-be will have tears of joy in his eyes as you stand before him.

When you wear a tiara, you will still have plenty of options for beautiful wedding hairstyles. Buy your tiara early on, and spend some time experimenting with different looks. Work with a stylist to find the perfect hairstyle for your white wedding dress and headpiece – you can go for a sleek, shiny blowout, or an ornate up-do – either style will compliment the twinkling gemstones on your special “crown”.

Shoes

The perfect wedding shoes offer comfort, sleek, satiny fabric, and total coordination with your gown, veil, tiara, bridal rings, and other wedding accessories. You’ll feel like Cinderella with her glass slipper as you find the perfect choice for your own outfit.

Today’s hottest designs offer fashion-conscious embellishments that add an extra shot of beauty to traditional slingback or sandal styles – crystals and pleating are popular details that make the prettiest wedding shoes stand out.

If you’re tall, or averse to wearing high heels, you can even enjoy a feminine ballet slipper in pure white!

Whatever you choose, make sure you go all out! When you’re at the bridal shop, make sure you remember that you will keep these precious shoes forever, and treasure them for years to come! Some brides opt for a little shot of color in their wedding shoes – pale pastels won’t stand out too much, so these shades are quite appropriate with pure white wedding dresses. Silver and gold metallic styles also compliment any type of wedding gown – and Carrie from Sex And The City would definitely approve!

Capes And Jackets

Evoke old-world romance with a cute little fitted jacket or wedding cape. This soft, romantic style will add a sense of timeless beauty to your bridal gown. A cape or jacket is a wonderful way to add visual impact and originality to your outfit, and these designs can be so affordable.

If you want to add individuality and romance to your wedding outfit, slip a cuddly, yet sophisticated cape or jacket over your wedding dress. Faux-fur makes these choices animal-friendly and reasonably-priced. If you’re so inclined, slide on a pair of long satin gloves as well. For cool-weather weddings, this accessory can be practical as well as beloved. Your friends and family will smile when they see you all decked out like a queen on your special wedding day.

Treat Yourself To The Best Wedding Accessories…You Deserve Them!

Many women compromise when it comes to wedding accessories, and then feel sad when their outfit doesn’t quite measure up. Don’t deprive yourself of the right accessories for your wedding – you deserve to make your dreams come true. Wedding dresses are major purchases and they represent a significant investment – therefore, they must be balanced with the correct accessories.

Every bride wants fairytale romance – and every bride-to-be deserves to feel special on her big day. When you plan carefully and choose the headpiece, shoes, and other accessories of your dreams, you will be happier, more confident…and more beautiful! Your wedding photos will become treasured keepsakes that evoke the most romantic memories ever! Whether you love low key elegance or wild, trendy styles, you will find something perfect for you at our bridal boutique!

Finding Unique Bridesmaid Dresses

Bridesmaids complement the bride. Similarly, the bridesmaid dresses complement the wedding dress. You have already figured out every detail of your unique wedding — down to your unique wedding dress to your unique wedding invitations. However, you still haven’t figured out what to do with your bridesmaid dresses.

201

The initial step is actually so obvious. Take down your gorgeous wedding dress, analyze it’s style, it’s cut and it’s theme, then go from there. If you have a luxurious Grecian wedding dress, then start from there. Search for Greek-inspired bridesmaid dresses online. There are actually a few extremely reliable web sites who can offer you a wide variety of designs to choose from. These Web Sites also feature wedding invitations and wedding favors, among others. If your wedding dress is Hawaiian-inspired, then what logical reason is there other than to have Hawaiian themed bridesmaid dresses? If you are wearing a princess cut wedding gown, you may also opt to have princess-cut bridesmaid dresses.

205

Consult your bridesmaids on the designs which they like. Most women know what cut and style suit them most, so a consultation would be a safer route. For those with more than one bridesmaid, let them debate on a style and cut which would work well for all of them. Or, you may let these bridesmaids wear separate styles so as to enhance their assets and to make them feel comfortable wearing the clothes of their choice on your wedding day. You could also give your bridesmaids a few magazines to leaf through. These wedding catalogues and magazines could be a huge factor in helping the bridesmaids come to an agreement on their bridesmaid dresses.

It would also be advisable to seek the help of a professional designer. These designers know women’s body types and they could design clothes to perfectly suit each body type. Remember, there are some things that clothes designers can see that the mere mortal’s naked eyes don’t.

210

Remind your bridesmaids that there are no slinky numbers allowed in weddings. That rule should be strictly enforces. So, if they want to change the style and cut of their bridesmaid dresses, the better make sure to stay away from embarrassingly suggestive clothing. Otherwise, threaten them that you are going to personally drag them through the threshold.

When it comes to the color, the bridesmaids actually have very little say about this. You should follow the wedding motif. Green bridesmaid dresses would look awful if your theme is lavender. Similarly, fuchsia pink bridesmaid dresses would totally seem out of place if your wedding color theme is yellow. You can choose bridesmaid dresses that may be just a shade or two darker or lighter than your wedding motif. However, you should never a totally different shade.

All in all, the important elements in choosing your bridesmaid dresses can basically be summed up as these: Your wedding dress style, your wedding color motif, your theme and venue, your bridesmaids personalities and preferences, and of course, your bridesmaids’ comfort.

Runaway Brides, Jilting Grooms and Wedding Dresses

Cold feet – these are two simple words that can mean plenty of things beyond their dictionary meanings. For a podiatrist, cold feet are cold sensations to the feet owing to poor circulation, nervous system disorders and low thyroid condition. For engaged couples, cold feet is trouble brewing on the horizon of marital bliss even before you can enter the wedded state. In short order, brides can say goodbye to their wedding dresses. Sad but true.Just imagine being the runaway bride leaving your groom at the altar, waiting for nothing while the guests are left to wonder and wander. On the other side of the wedding jitters fence, imagine being the jilted bride waiting for your groom to come to his own wedding. (“Where could he have gone to this time?” you ask. You should have known that when he missed his final rehearsal dinner by becoming dead drunk, he probably will not attend your wedding. But that is digressing)

If you have been on both sides of the fence or you know many people who have been there and done that, here are perfectly logical suggestions to dispose of those dresses, maybe even make a few bucks along the way.

Sell On Auction Sites

Just as there are many jilted and jilting brides, there are also enchanted brides. You can sell wedding dresses through online auction sites like eBay, UBid Online Auctions, Amazon and Yahoo! Auctions where you can be as honest as you want or you can be as sly as you need to be. If you cannot let the whole world know of your dirty deed, you can always go to the thrift stores and sell your wedding dress for a discount.

Of course, you cannot expect to sell your wedding dress for its original value! Still, it certainly beats having it inside your closet and reminding you of your brush with disaster and of your tragedy, whatever is the case.

Donate to Charities

You might not make a buck but you can change somebody else’s luck with your donation of wedding frock. (Not yours only, of course. You can include your friends’ bridesmaid and bridal ensembles, too. That is, if they want to.)

For example, you can give your wedding dress to the Brides Against Breast Cancer/Making Memories Foundation. You will be contributing to a worthy cause from an unworthy affair, which is a good way as any to dispose of your wedding dress.

Recycle It into Something Else

If you are into arts and crafts, then you can always recycle, re-sew and reincarnate wedding dresses. After all, each and every part of your bridal ensemble can be put to good use from the cloth to the embroidery. You can turn it into pillowcases, doll dresses, handkerchiefs, photo album cover, small handbags, tablecloths and napkins, and even a shawl. Indeed, why give away a perfectly good piece of expensive cloth when you can use it yourself sans the fanfare?

Now, supposing you go the route of Maggie Carpenter (the title character of the movie “Runaway Bride”), you know what to do with all your wedding dresses to make it worth your while. Of course, you can always stomp on them, tear them to shreds, burn them to hell and throw them down a cliff never to be seen again, but then what good would that be?

For the perfect wedding favors, wedding cakes, bridesmaid dresses and wedding invitations your guests and fiance cannot refuse, go to BestForBride.com today! And don’t forget the wedding dresses that no groom will ever snub!

Wedding Dresses From Men’s Point of View

When it comes to weddings, it is the always the women’s point of view that is scored and quartered. Haven’t anybody thought about asking men what they would like their brides to wear when it comes to wedding dresses?

What Men Would Like If They Had the Chance

When women shop for their wedding dresses, do they ask the opinion of their grooms? Most would rather surprise their men and anyway choosing the wedding gown is their right. Ask any woman if she would let her man decide what she should wear for the wedding rites and get a baleful glare in return. The wedding dress is the be all and end all and it should be as perfect as the stunning gown in their minds. Why let men ruin their fairytale?

But hear it from men. They love to ogle women in tight fitting pants and micro mini-skirts but when it comes to their women, they are stricter than the Benedictine monks are. So it’s not unusual if men would love to have their brides wear wedding dresses that:

* show curves but not much skin
* have moderately low necklines
* have no thigh high slits to distract other men
* are simple with less frills
* traditional in cut and design

But not all men have the same tastes and some men do have some weird ideas of women’s fashion especially wedding dresses. The avant-garde will approve a racy wedding gown or something out of the traditional culture.

Men’s Point of View

When it comes to women’s wardrobes men have a lot to say about the following:

* spandex under dresses
* pointy toed shoes
* leggings worn under dresses
* Uggs
* huge drugstore sunglasses
* short shirts worn over tight pants

What does your man hate about your style? You know by his pleadings not to wear those crazy fashions he cannot understand and those volcanic red lipsticks, Fidel Castro hats, pregnant look, crocs, and hottie shirts that drive him batty. As a compromise, hear what he has to say about your wedding dress but be prepared to argue.

Perhaps your man wants you all covered with a high necked gown and your slender arms sheathed in long white gloves when you want an off-the-shoulder creation. It would excite him to watch you do a special striptease for him during the first night you share as husband and wife – that is if you still have the energy for some blood racing and adrenalin pumping private show.

Maybe he loves your legs and would want the world to know what you got so he will ask you to wear a mini wedding dress even when you want a princess gown. Well, this will have you mourning over the fairy tale wedding dresses you have designed since you were a little girl, but your man has a point here, right?

Would You Agree to His Fantasies?

Crazy as it may seem, women do forego their dream wedding dresses when they like the idea of wearing something out of the ordinary that goes with the wedding theme. If you love him too much, then say goodbye to fairytale wedding dresses if he wants a beach party themed wedding.

Bridal Boutique – The First Important Stop For Your Wedding Shopping

When to Shop for a Wedding Dress

After your man pops the question, the first lap for your wedding preparation begins – budgeting. Everybody contributing to the wedding kitty should sit down work on the budget to prevent nasty surprises later on. At this point choosing a bridal boutique is not yet a priority; first, agree on the budget, and wedding date. The rest can be sorted out later, following a system to keep sane all throughout the wedding preparations.

When the budget is all laid out, start looking for a bridal dress. This is the second lap of your preparations and the first item to look for because a wedding dress has to be ordered six months before the wedding. Most brides choose a small bridal boutique because of the personalized service. This is understandable because during the preparations, brides are highly strung what with the whirl of activities and things to do to stage a perfect wedding.

A bridal boutique should have everything you might need – wedding invitations, crinolines, tiaras, jewelry, shoes, and the shop should offer alterations and gown cleaning if you have decided to rent a gown for yourself and your bridesmaids. The shop attendant in a small boutique also understands you don’t want to be a cookie cutter bride, so you should be in good hands.

Where to Shop

There are a number of shops catering to wedding gowns. They offer hundreds of designs from traditional to the unusual and top designer labels. There are big shops, small shops, online shops, and basement shops. You can even find some thrift shops that have wedding dresses in mint condition, which you can alter to make it truly yours.

If you have a bridal boutique in mind, check out if it has an online shop so you can leisurely view what they have for sale. Perhaps you can also catch discount offers and extra service without exorbitant fees. Check out other online bridal shops so you can compare products and rates for custom-made or rental gowns.

Whether you are shopping in a big store or a small bridal boutique, you have to make an appointment. This prepares the sales staff for your request to look at dresses within a price range; this also eliminates wasted hours in showing you dresses you are not going to get anyway.

Make Your Shopping Fast and Fun

If there are something nice you like in an online bridal boutique, visit the shop to see more of their wedding dresses. Bring a bridal magazine and the shoes with the heel height you are going to wear with the bridal dress.

Don’t be surprised that if you are a size 10 the clerk will give you a size 12 gown. This is the usual route because the wedding is 6 months away. There will be numerous fittings and alterations during the period until you get the exact fit before your wedding day.

Now you know why a bridal boutique should be your first stop for your wedding shopping.

A bridal boutique should be your one-stop shop for your wedding gown, wedding favours, wedding invitations and other essentials for you wedding. At BestForBrides.com, you’ll find everything you need, including wedding cakes.

What to Look For in an Online Bridal Shop – Five Hot Tips

Tip No. 1

Budget is not an issue when you start searching for a bridal shop. These shops carry a line of designer wedding gowns priced accordingly from the most expensive to the very affordable for the budget conscious bride.

Tip No. 2

Customer service should be an issue in your choice of a bridal shop. Friendly customer service makes you comfortable in picking out the wedding dress and other formal gowns for the wedding entourage. The sales people should be patient and accommodating and not bulldozer you towards expensive gowns or to their outdated selections.

Tip No. 3

Smaller shops are friendlier than those shops offering high volume merchandise. The sales people are aware that you are looking for the wedding gown of your dreams and will offer you a wide selection plus gown alteration for a fee.

Tip No. 4

A bridal shop should carry a line of wedding services. Skip the search for wedding shoes and accessories, discounted wedding invitations, wedding cakes and wedding favors, and honeymoon destinations. It is practical to get the services from the same shop where you are getting your wedding dress because you can get more discounts. You also do not have to deal with a number of shops, which can be confusing and time consuming.

Tip No. 5

The bridal shop should have a stock for the plus sized and the petite. The salesperson should be knowledgeable about body shapes and types of fabrics that would enhance your body shape.

The Best Surprises Come in Small Packages

It is a toss-up between big bridal shops and the small bridal boutique. Small bridal shops win hands down if you want personalized service. You can find this out by visiting the local bridal store in your locality or by the prompt response to your queries from online shops.

When the salespeople don’t rush you to make a purchase, you have found the shop that wants you to help fulfill your wedding fantasies. It does not matter if you buying an expensive gown or renting an affordable bridal dress, so you are better off here. With small shops, you are in the company of sales people who are after your complete satisfaction.

Surprisingly small stores carry the latest in designer gowns and offer an assortment too. These shops provide gown and accessories rentals if you decide to rent the whole kit and caboodle for you, your bridesmaids, and your mother and your mother-in-law to be. It would be fun swooping down to the shop with your family and friends for your first look-see.

Choosing your wedding gown should not be confusing if you stick to the wedding theme and your budget. With the information, the bridal shop of your choice will steer you to the appropriate gowns if you let them know what you want.
